With an extended leg and a bit of luck Noël Clenet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nico Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Noël Clenet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Saint Côme de Fresné defense, Manuel Vianna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Noël Clenet. The Saint Côme de Fresné fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Noël Clenet should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Thibaut Abeille's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eliseu Tasso was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Eliseu Tasso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yazid Debuire in the 39th minute. After 47 minutes, Chicão Valle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Encanto and the Saint Côme de Fresné players grew even worse after the yellow card. Chicão Valle hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Encanto were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Vianna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. During the 73rd minute of the match Chicão Valle completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Chicão Valle a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 77th minute Guillaume Barillot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Nico Palmeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Eliseu Tasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillaume Barillot, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The supporters of Saint Côme de Fresné booed when Encanto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edson Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Encanto supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Encanto would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
