Cássio Britto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Lúcio Rodrigues made a huge save. A collision led to New Loser FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Duarte Azevedo hit a great ball. When Reinaldo Vargas fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Loser FC's protests and gave Reinaldo Vargas a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave SAS a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dadá Branco, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of New Loser FC's Eliseu Negri. 0-1. A collision led to SAS getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Cafu Mandrak hit a great ball. Eliseu Negri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Artur Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Loser FC's protests and gave Artur Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes New Loser FC got a freekick which was hit by Artur Abreu. In the 29th minute Elias Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute, Edvaldo Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. New Loser FC's Eliseu Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu Mandrak in the 32nd minute of play. Eliseu Negri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dadá Branco in the 35th minute of the match. New Loser FC's Jailson Souto got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Vieira in the 40th minute of play forced New Loser FC's goalkeeper Eliseu Negri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Cafu Mandrak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the New Loser FC defense, Elias Vieira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliseu Negri. The New Loser FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliseu Negri should have stopped the shot.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Germano Bertassi during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 54 played minutes SAS got a freekick which was hit by Germano Bertassi. After 62 played minutes SAS got a freekick which was hit by Dadá Branco. 66 minutes into the match, Virgílio Diniz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lúcio Rodrigues. SAS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Virgílio Diniz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Beto Maia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eliseu Negri. That made the score 1-3 in the 76 minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, SAS's goal looked a bit too open when Virgílio Diniz came free, but Lúcio Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliseu Negri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beto Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. New Loser FC's Eliseu Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Maia in the 89th minute of play. Cafu Mandrak scored 1-4 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eliseu Negri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
