The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Germano Bertassi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Roland Burdzel. Germano Bertassi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 5th minute, Wladyslaw Motowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cafu Mandrak got free with Roland Burdzel in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11thth minute of the game Wladyslaw Motowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SAS's Lúcio Rodrigues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Roland Burdzel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SAS's Dudu de Souza suffered a concussion after 21 minutes and had to leave the field. After 21 minutes, Kylian Lewandowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the STAL ST WOLA and the SAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. SAS made a substitution. Alfredo Velloso replaced Dudu de Souza. A collision led to STAL ST WOLA getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Maciej Kaczanek hit a great ball. In the 24th minute of the match Dadá Branco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roland Burdzel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Lúcio Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wladyslaw Motowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. SAS's Lúcio Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedykt Rawa in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, SAS's goal looked a bit too open when Benedykt Rawa came free, but Lúcio Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in STAL ST WOLA's zone, Dadá Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roland Burdzel came out of the goal and Dadá Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 31 played minutes SAS got a freekick which was hit by Sandro Velasco. SAS's Lúcio Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wladyslaw Motowski in the 36th minute of play. Beto Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Roland Burdzel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benedykt Rawa in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lúcio Rodrigues saved SAS from getting behind. After 46 played minutes STAL ST WOLA got a freekick which was hit by Boguslaw Nowak. A hard shot 47 in the game by Cafu Mandrak from a close distance when the talented Roland Burdzel managed to make a qualified save. STAL ST WOLA's players were relieved.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Beto Maia to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Velloso in the 52nd minute of play forced STAL ST WOLA's goalkeeper Roland Burdzel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, SAS's Edvaldo Miranda got a free kick in the 55th minute. When Maciej Kaczanek came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the STAL ST WOLA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maciej Kaczanek couldn't finish the play. After 60 minutes of play, STAL ST WOLA's Benedykt Rawa made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lúcio Rodrigues was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alfredo Velloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lúcio Rodrigues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benedykt Rawa in the 83rd minute. The STAL ST WOLA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing STAL ST WOLA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
