When Thomas Wassberg came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the MAFFIAN fans jumped to their feet. Thomas Wassberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Martin Pasqua when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Torgny Mogren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Pasqua having to interfere. With a little luck, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Martin Pasqua got control of the ball when Torgny Mogren tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Thomas Wassberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 32nd match minute, Chivos de Punto Fijo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luzea Pedrero to maneuver through the defense. If Torgny Mogren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gunde Svan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Martin Pasqua successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Torgny Mogren struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Martin Pasqua didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MAFFIAN. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thomas Wassberg to make the kick off. Aron Dahlbom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Pedroso in the 51st minute of the match. Martin Pasqua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Svensson, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute.
