Martin Pasqua breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 31 minutes into the match, Marco Dias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Pasqua. Chivos de Punto Fijo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Dias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Marco Dias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Pasqua read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. ≮王者归来≯News at 11's attentive Gonçalo Coelho managed to snatch the ball when Ceferino Aizaran made a throw-in in the 46th minute of the game. In the 47th minute, Marco Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gayand Pombo was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Marco Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Pasqua saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Chivos de Punto Fijo's zone, Marco Dias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Pasqua came out of the goal and Marco Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Dias in the 68th minute of play forced Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Martin Pasqua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
