Christopher Riverol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Vítor Guimarães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. When Sidnei Dionísio fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 卡納里尼奧 FC's protests and gave Sidnei Dionísio a yellow card for diving instead. Sidnei Dionísio hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Agostinho Guedes kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After 18 played minutes Chivos de Punto Fijo got a freekick which was hit by Gayand Pombo. 卡納里尼奧 FC's Sidnei Dionísio got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Sidnei Dionísio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 30 minutes had been played. In the 30th minute, Sidnei Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christopher Riverol might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Vítor Guimarães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christopher Riverol ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 37 minutes, Agostinho Guedes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 卡納里尼奧 FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agostinho Guedes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of 卡納里尼奧 FC booed when Chivos de Punto Fijo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christopher Riverol didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Christopher Riverol got a free kick in the 45th minute. João Vítor Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christopher Riverol, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Agostinho Guedes to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as 卡納里尼奧 FC's Eliseu Alagoano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Martin Pasqua. That made the score 0-2 after 52 minutes of play. Agostinho Guedes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Martin Pasqua when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Agostinho Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. João Vítor Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gayand Pombo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agostinho Guedes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Martin Pasqua firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 63rd minute of the match 卡納里尼奧 FC got a corner. Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abel Vidal ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 96th minute Gayand Pombo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Vítor Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The 卡納里尼奧 FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
