When Gino Pombal came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Grêmio Meia Praia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gino Pombal couldn't finish the play. In the 9th minute, Julio Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute, Amador Menendo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grêmio Meia Praia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. If Eduardo Fontirroig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gino Pombal came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Grêmio Meia Praia fans jumped to their feet. Grêmio Meia Praia were furious when Filipe Eanes was red carded, 25 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Grêmio Meia Praia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! Juan Isaio kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Gino Pombal could shoot a difficult shot in the 36th minute, which Camilo Freixa however easily saved by the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Gustavo Dante was the one to do the kick off. Julio Chicote sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Gustavo Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Camilo Freixa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grêmio Meia Praia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bolivia the free kick. After a rather tough play, Grêmio Meia Praia's Gino Pombal got a free kick in the 67th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amílton Dantas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gino Pombal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camilo Freixa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Luiz Gustavo Dante had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Camilo Freixa. Bolivia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Gustavo Dante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Gino Pombal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Camilo Freixa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gino Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the match, Gino Pombal notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Bolivia's Camilo Freixa. Camilo Freixa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luiz Gustavo Dante took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Freixa. Camilo Freixa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. In the 93rd minute Luiz Gustavo Dante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Freixa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute of the match Grêmio Meia Praia got a corner. Bolivia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luiz Gustavo Dante ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Juan Isaio heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 96th minute, Luiz Gustavo Dante made a precise shot to the right of Camilo Freixa. Bolivia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1.
