Yannik Mattheis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 6th minute of the match. The supporters of KFC Uerdingen 05 booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Fabrizio Nowak was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KFC Uerdingen 05's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. A collision led to KFC Uerdingen 05 getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Fabrizio Nowak hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yannik Mattheis. KFC Uerdingen 05's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Uerdingen 05's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yannik Mattheis came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yannik Mattheis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yannik Mattheis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play forced KFC Uerdingen 05's goalkeeper Yannik Mattheis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when KFC Uerdingen 05 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sylwester Dziuma didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yannik Mattheis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Simon Bannenbusch's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Bannenbusch in the 69th minute of play. When Simon Bannenbusch came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the KFC Uerdingen 05 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Bannenbusch couldn't finish the play. Yannik Mattheis came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 81 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Bannenbusch came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goalkeeper Yannik Mattheis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Simon Brechbilder struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Uerdingen 05. The audience was convinced that Simon Bannenbusch's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yannik Mattheis having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lando Cürten kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Ecuador played a much better game than KFC Uerdingen 05 and deserved their victory. The KFC Uerdingen 05 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
