The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Camilo Gaos a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. Alejandro Jerrald's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jonathan Ferrant firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alvar Öberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacobo Mark in the 33rd minute of play. Jacobo Mark fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Alejandro Jerrald took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Eladio in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th minute, Venezuela's Alex Chicote seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alex Chicote the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Venezuela protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alex Chicote had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jacobo Mark was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 51st minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacobo Mark, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Alejandro Jerrald took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Fred Karlsson scored 5-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fred Karlsson hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejandro Jerrald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Alejandro Jerrald in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Guillermo Mariano's late challenge caught a Club Atletico Rio Tercero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guillermo Mariano helped the player get up and apologised. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Jacobo Mark came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Karlsson in the 81st minute of play. In the 90th minute, Jacobo Mark ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. After 94 minutes, Alejandro Jerrald made it 8-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
