When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Wes Carragher put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Dante Lacasa. The audience was convinced that Lautaro Mancebo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Danny Jumel was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jarred Castaneda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 33 minutes into the game, Gloucester City AFC's Jarred Castaneda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 37 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Wes Carragher came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tyler Willmott. In the 46th minute, Wes Carragher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Mexico booed when Gloucester City AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teddy Martin didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Wes Carragher made the kick off in the second half. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Åke Petersson in the 54th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teddy Martin during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th minute Kristopher Le Saux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Kristopher Le Saux kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristopher Le Saux in the 76th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danny Jumel made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Tafalla hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Gloucester City AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mexico for a fine match.
