Gabriel de Castro started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, ionion's Ilie Surugiu got a free kick in the 3rd minute. ionion's Fabio Abalos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel de Castro in the 5th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ilie Surugiu got free with Kimetz Pejuan in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabio Abalos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dimitri Verhelst's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Fabio Abalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dimitri Verhelst in the 14th minute of play. With a little luck, Shadwell Town FC's Kimetz Pejuan got control of the ball when Ilie Surugiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 16th minute of the match Zikoranachidimma Bischhoffshausen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kimetz Pejuan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Shadwell Town FC defense, Ilie Surugiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kimetz Pejuan. The Shadwell Town FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kimetz Pejuan should have stopped the shot. ionion's Fabio Abalos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ştefan Trifu in the 24th minute of play. Ilie Surugiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabio Abalos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dainius Danilaitis's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Shadwell Town FC's zone, Ilie Surugiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kimetz Pejuan came out of the goal and Ilie Surugiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dimitri Verhelst in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Abalos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabio Abalos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel de Castro in the 41st minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, ionion's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitri Verhelst came free, but Fabio Abalos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ionion's Fabio Abalos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel de Castro in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ilie Surugiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kimetz Pejuan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilie Surugiu in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th minute Taner Zübeyr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kimetz Pejuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabio Abalos made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Dainius Danilaitis sent off a good shot on target. ionion's Fabio Abalos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joe Oliver in the 67th minute of play. Ilie Surugiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kimetz Pejuan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Yağızhan Aşkıner's late challenge caught a ionion's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yağızhan Aşkıner helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave ionion a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Paul Grigoroiu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Shadwell Town FC's Kimetz Pejuan. 2-0. Dainius Danilaitis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Fabio Abalos made a huge save. After some careless play in the Shadwell Town FC defense, Panait Oprea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kimetz Pejuan. The Shadwell Town FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kimetz Pejuan should have stopped the shot. Kimetz Pejuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panait Oprea, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panait Oprea in the 87th minute of play forced Shadwell Town FC's goalkeeper Kimetz Pejuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. ionion had won after a very even match.
