After a defensive mix-up in Portuguesa's zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorginho Vaz came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jorginho Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Portuguesa's Jorginho Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 67th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that 任浩默 got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Andreas Pirlo kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Jorginho Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
