Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Montenegro in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Harun Uluer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 18th minute of play forced Santos Lugares FC's goalkeeper Harun Uluer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Justino Locaio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santos Lugares FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Justino Locaio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Omar Berasko fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santos Lugares FC's protests and gave Omar Berasko a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Santos Lugares FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Omar Berasko didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Harun Uluer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Harun Uluer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute. Santos Lugares FC's Harun Uluer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 38th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saturnino Lluc in the 44th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Harun Uluer having to make a save. Harun Uluer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Saturnino Lluc to strike the kick off in the second half. Harun Uluer made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harun Uluer having to interfere. Cristian Sancho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Harun Uluer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Harun Uluer came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saturnino Lluc in the 65th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saturnino Lluc went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Harun Uluer came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 70th minute. In the 76th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Harun Uluer. The goal made the score 1-3. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Harun Uluer made a huge save. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos Lugares FC's goalkeeper Harun Uluer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 84th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Santos Lugares FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Harun Uluer despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Harun Uluer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harun Uluer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When Daniel Zorita fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Santos Lugares FC throughout the match.
