Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Caetano De Bruyne sent off a good shot on target. In the 7th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Charlie Hennenberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Azevedo in the 14th minute of play. Leão de Judá's Charlie Hennenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 22nd minute of play. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After 33 played minutes Leão de Judá got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Rincón. In the 33rd minute, Freddy Rincón fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caetano De Bruyne got free with Julio Vera in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cesinha Pitta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Caetano De Bruyne to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Caetano De Bruyne in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Azevedo in the 59th minute of play. Leão de Judá were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cesinha Pitta took the corner. 63 minutes into the match, Leão de Judá's Cristiano Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Leão de Judá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Charlie Hennenberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Cesinha Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leão de Judá's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesinha Pitta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charlie Hennenberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Cesinha Pitta kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Azevedo in the 79th minute of the match. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cesinha Pitta was slow to take the kick. During this time Leão de Judá's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Cesinha Pitta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 84 minutes into the match, Leão de Judá's Cristiano Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Daniel Zorita fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Charlie Hennenberg, passed just outside the right post. Severino Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Caetano De Bruyne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cristian Sancho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Charlie Hennenberg firmly grabbed it by the left post. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
