Diego Eterno's Modesto Santikurtz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play. Modesto Santikurtz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cosme Fulanito during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 19 played minutes Diego Eterno got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Fulanito. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 43 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cosme Fulanito hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Modesto Santikurtz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Diego Eterno's Modesto Santikurtz managed to reach the ball for a save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Saul Goodman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Saul Goodman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Modesto Santikurtz made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Di Ming Yuan during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
