Amerigo Muzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 13th minute of the match. Leonardo Leoz made in the 16th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lautaro Mancebo. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Luiz Gustavo do Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Mexico booed when Floripa Lions FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandão Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Gustavo do Valle in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Floripa Lions FSCMZ were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pedro Luís Alvarenga took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Gustavo do Valle in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. In the 27thth minute of the game Luiz Gustavo do Valle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amerigo Muzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 28th minute of the match. José Carlos Alagoano's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Luiz Gustavo do Valle slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dante Lacasa. That made the score 1-1 after 37 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Gustavo do Valle got free with Dante Lacasa in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute Floripa Lions FSCMZ were awarded a corner. Pedro Luís Alvarenga went to the cornerflag to take it. Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Pedro Luís Alvarenga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Gustavo do Valle was the one to do the kick off. Alberto Tafalla scored 2-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amerigo Muzi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 77 minutes into the game, Felix Luque was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Floripa Lions FSCMZ the free kick. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Felix Luque hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the match, Floripa Lions FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Amerigo Muzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hortêncio Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. A collision led to Floripa Lions FSCMZ getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Tom Henriksson hit a great ball. After 85 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Amerigo Muzi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. In the 87th minute, Joel Gaona reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Amerigo Muzi. The goal made the score 2-4. 92 minutes into the match, Floripa Lions FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Amerigo Muzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Carlos Alagoano in the 94th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amerigo Muzi made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Facundo Cadaval sent off a good shot on target.
