Monty Rogers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Martin Crețu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valeriu Morovan got free with Marco Day in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marco Day made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Valeriu Morovan sent off a good shot on target. Martin Crețu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 9th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shi Ming Sheng in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Edward Mcdonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martin Crețu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cassius Byrne's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 15th match minute, Stiinta-Univ. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antoni Kachamakov to maneuver through the defense. Stiinta-Univ.'s Martin Crețu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 16th minute of play. USA were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Stiinta-Univ.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cassius Byrne took the corner. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Martin Crețu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martin Crețu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Mcdonald in the 25th minute of play. The USA fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when USA's Cassius Byrne looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Shi Ming Sheng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Shi Ming Sheng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Shi Ming Sheng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 39 minutes, Monty Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Monty Rogers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 43 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Diego Bradley. After the first half USA were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Martin Crețu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cassius Byrne in the 56th minute. With a little luck, Stiinta-Univ.'s Martin Crețu got control of the ball when Cassius Byrne tried to sneak it across the goal line. Shi Ming Sheng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valeriu Morovan in the 62nd minute of play. Martin Crețu was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Cassius Byrne capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cassius Byrne really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Mcdonald got free with Martin Crețu in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 74 minutes into the match, Sam Campbell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Crețu. Stiinta-Univ.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sam Campbell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Martin Crețu made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Edward Mcdonald sent off a good shot on target. After 79 played minutes Stiinta-Univ. got a freekick which was hit by Viteazul Flore. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. In the 80th minute, Viteazul Flore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Martin Crețu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jenson Smith in the 81st minute. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Okan Koc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, USA's Martin Crețu threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Khalid Parry, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 93rd minute Valeriu Morovan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over USA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Stiinta-Univ. throughout the match.
