Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hernan Ellande prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 13th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernan Ellande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernan Ellande didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Academia Club's Hernan Ellande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Hernan Ellande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Academia Club's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Hernan Ellande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Hernan Ellande. Academia Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Cahit Eker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hernan Ellande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 minutes, Yuan Jian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academia Club and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st match minute, Academia Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuan Jian to maneuver through the defense. Hernan Ellande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of the match. Hernan Ellande stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Cahit Eker hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Hernan Ellande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Carmelo Osmundo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 52nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. During the 54th minute of the match Juan Sebastián Puig completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Juan Sebastián Puig a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 55 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. 56 minutes into the match, Academia Club's Cahit Eker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cahit Eker in the 59th minute of the match. Academia Club were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Carmelo Osmundo took the corner. After taking down the ball on Academia Club's corner Carmelo Osmundo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Academia Club's Carmelo Osmundo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. During the 69th minute of the match Yuan Jian completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Yuan Jian a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Yuan Jian hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the match, Julio-César Dely Valdés notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Beto Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Academia Club's Hernan Ellande proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Academia Club from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio-César Dely Valdés in the 84th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the game, Luis Andino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Academia Club the free kick. The supporters of Academia Club booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio-César Dely Valdés in the 94th minute of the match. Cahit Eker struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia Club. The Academia Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
