Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Fabian Czeszejko put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Morientes in the 8th minute of play. Fabian Czeszejko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th minute, Fabian Czeszejko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Fabian Czeszejko put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. 20 minutes into the match, Olimpia HSB's Fabian Czeszejko sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Fabian Czeszejko tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 27 minutes of play, Olimpia HSB's Fabian Czeszejko made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 30 played minutes Olimpia HSB got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Abecia. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Fabian Czeszejko put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. Fabian Czeszejko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Czeszejko came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Fabian Czeszejko reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 8-0. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Czeszejko in the 41st minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Fernando Morientes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Olimpia HSB's Fabian Czeszejko got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabian Czeszejko to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Fabian Czeszejko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After 71 minutes, Efrain Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Olimpia HSB players grew even worse after the yellow card. Olimpia HSB's Zbyszko Skorny was substituted for Artur Walczak. Olimpia HSB's Tomáš Petrásek was substituted for Sixto Yanguas. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Efrain Moruga got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute, Jacek Pietrowiak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacek Pietrowiak took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 13-0. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacek Pietrowiak in the 80th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Jacek Pietrowiak made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 14-0. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacek Pietrowiak in the 85th minute of play. Jacek Pietrowiak scored 15-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 91 minutes into the game, Jacek Pietrowiak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 16-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jacek Pietrowiak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olimpia HSB walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
