Julian Murillo started the match with the kick off. Candido Hendrickx blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Sixto Luke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sixto Luke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 9th minute of the match. Sixto Luke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The supporters of Peru booed when Pilar FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rex Welsh didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Hendrickx, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 23rd minute of play forced Pilar FC's goalkeeper Sixto Luke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Isaac Tristan was slow to take the kick. During this time Pilar FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Pilar FC's corner Isaac Tristan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. Pilar FC's Sixto Luke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 38th minute of play. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Candido Hendrickx in the 42nd minute. Sixto Luke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Candido Hendrickx to make the kick off. Peru's Milagros Fraga quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Rex Welsh, made in the 59th minute of the game. 64 minutes into the match, Pilar FC's Candido Hendrickx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 66 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Isaac Tristan who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Pilar FC's Godofredo Lano to a score. 1-0 in the 66th minute. Pilar FC made a substitution. Guus Koole replaced Cristian Jenaro. Pilar FC made a substitution. Eliseo Mina hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Pilar FC's Sixto Luke got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 83rd minute Nicanor Illan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Gallo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sixto Luke was a little too slow when Rafael Gallo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 1-1. Milagros Fraga's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sixto Luke firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Gallo got free with Sixto Luke in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Pedro Artizar fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pilar FC's protests and gave Pedro Artizar a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pilar FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! Sixto Luke had in the 98thth minute some difficulties stopping Eliseo Mina's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.
