After a defensive mix-up in Dep Colonia Avellaneda's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victoriano Bernaldo came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 5 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Darryl Buckner came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Darryl Buckner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Victoriano Bernaldo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Victoriano Bernaldo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 15th minute of play. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goalkeeper Victoriano Bernaldo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 21st minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victoriano Bernaldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darryl Buckner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darryl Buckner in the 32nd minute of play. Victoriano Bernaldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wei Li in the 42nd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victoriano Bernaldo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santo Libertad in the 59th minute of the match. After 60 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Victoriano Bernaldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo Rosa charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leopoldo Rosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Dep Colonia Avellaneda getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Leopoldo Rosa hit a great ball. In the 65th minute, Wei Li hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Victoriano Bernaldo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 70th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Lautaro Mancebo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Victoriano Bernaldo quite easily take care of the ball. In the 73rd minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Victoriano Bernaldo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 74 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victoriano Bernaldo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victoriano Bernaldo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Dep Colonia Avellaneda from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Rosa in the 79th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victoriano Bernaldo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. After 93 minutes, Santo Libertad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dep Colonia Avellaneda and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 93rd match minute, Dep Colonia Avellaneda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santo Libertad to maneuver through the defense. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Dep Colonia Avellaneda.
