Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ünsal Sendur made the kick off and thus started the match. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mickaël Maris. Mickaël Maris dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 9 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Mickaël Maris was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 11th minute of play. Mickaël Maris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milagros Fraga in the 14th minute of the match. After 17 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luiz Fábio de Medeiros who took care of the corner kick. In the 23rd minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mickaël Maris was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 43 minutes into the game, Emmanuel Reyes threw the ball into play from the sideline. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Zézinho Veloso quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Anthony Alvarado fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Peru's protests and gave Anthony Alvarado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Alvarado to maneuver through the defense. After 48 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Manfredo Vale. 49 minutes into the match, Peru's Luz Tejedor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mickaël Maris narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 59th minute, Luiz Fábio de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Mickaël Maris successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ünsal Sendur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Efraim Gilabert kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Julian Murillo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Mickaël Maris skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Julian Murillo had several of the Nova Iguaçu MZFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 73 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Mickaël Maris as he didn't even see the shot coming. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Mickaël Maris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Tenorio, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Peru:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nova Iguaçu MZFC:s goal. Antonio Tenorio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickaël Maris having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Rafael Gallo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Nova Iguaçu MZFC.
