Vodka Stars 1949's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ivo Chaves ran over to the corner to take the kick. 7 minutes into the match, KANONIERZY's Gösta Söderberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Generoso Beloki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Vodka Stars 1949's goalie and right to Ime Mavros. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Vodka Stars 1949's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vodka Stars 1949's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ivo Chaves was slow to take the kick. During this time KANONIERZY's players had a chance to rest. Ivo Chaves made a great header on KANONIERZY's corner, it was just that Vodka Stars 1949's Generoso Beloki managed to reach the ball for a save. 15 minutes into the match, Gösta Söderberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Generoso Beloki. Vodka Stars 1949's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gösta Söderberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Gösta Söderberg took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Generoso Beloki. Generoso Beloki dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 20 minutes of play, KANONIERZY's Gösta Söderberg made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Generoso Beloki was left in no man's land by his defense there! Generoso Beloki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gösta Söderberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Vodka Stars 1949's goalkeeper Generoso Beloki, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 34 played minutes KANONIERZY got a freekick which was hit by Francisco dos Santos. In the 38th play minute Curcio Alonso came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Christian Abbiati. 1-4. In the 46th minute, Francisco dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vodka Stars 1949's Curcio Alonso shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 47th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Christian Abbiati but with some difficulty. After the first half KANONIERZY were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gösta Söderberg to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, KANONIERZY's Gösta Söderberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Generoso Beloki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 53rd minute KANONIERZY were awarded a corner. Ivo Chaves went to the cornerflag to take it. Vodka Stars 1949 made a substitution. Martin Batalla replaced Erik Véber. Generoso Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gösta Söderberg in the 61st minute of play. KANONIERZY's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ivo Chaves in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, KANONIERZY's Bernard Poniewaz got a free kick in the 65th minute. Vodka Stars 1949 made a substitution. Casado Castan replaced Txema Cifuentes. In the 74th minute Jakes Justo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Abbiati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Vodka Stars 1949's goalkeeper Generoso Beloki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gösta Söderberg. KANONIERZY's Ludomil Poteralski was substituted for Bernard Poniewaz. KANONIERZY's Damazy Fleischer was substituted for Julian Zgonina. After having played for 86 minutes, Gösta Söderberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KANONIERZY's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gösta Söderberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 88th match minute, Vodka Stars 1949 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alifonso Irureta to maneuver through the defense. Gösta Söderberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Generoso Beloki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gösta Söderberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The Vodka Stars 1949 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. KANONIERZY were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
