Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daniel Zorita got the match started through his kick off. In the 26th match minute, FC Lëtzebuerg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dudin Suartama to maneuver through the defense. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 41 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erubiel Erasto. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serdar Gulson got free with Julio Vera in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loïc Payen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Lëtzebuerg's Loïc Payen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Lëtzebuerg's goalie prevented a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

FC Lëtzebuerg's Freddy Hirsch was substituted for Manuel Ferrara. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serdar Gulson was the one to do the kick off. Loïc Payen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Lëtzebuerg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Hirsch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serdar Gulson in the 66th minute of play. FC Lëtzebuerg's Loïc Payen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save FC Lëtzebuerg from getting a goal against them. Loïc Payen was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. In the 72nd minute Erubiel Erasto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 75 played minutes FC Lëtzebuerg got a freekick which was hit by Marouane Rocchi. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serdar Gulson went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 83 minutes into the match, Serdar Gulson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Serdar Gulson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Serdar Gulson might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Serdar Gulson ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serdar Gulson in the 86th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Gisbert made in the 92nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Luis Andino immediately put the ball in play. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Serdar Gulson managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Lëtzebuerg's supporters rose to their feet, but Serdar Gulson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The FC Lëtzebuerg players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
