If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but 邓真义 was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio-Paul Caniggia, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 83rd minute, which 邓真义 however easily saved by the left post. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. 邓真义 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
