Liu Chen Jian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liu Chen Jian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brasil off made a substitution. Leonardo Taurino replaced Enzo Flecha. After 74 minutes Brasil off's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dominick Van den Bossche, made in the 79th minute of the game. 92 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Ortzi came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
