Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute, Frédson Lira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Celso Trevisan in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Dr Lecter SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Celso Trevisan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Válbson Batista hit a great ball. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 76 minutes into the match, Omid Kaulbach notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Rafael Gallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dr Lecter SC's Laércio Guedes was substituted for Corneliu Dridu. After a defensive mix-up in Dr Lecter SC's zone, Rafael Gallo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celso Trevisan came out of the goal and Rafael Gallo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute, Laércio Guedes made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 96th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Reyes to maneuver through the defense.
