Marcial Estavan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martín Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Meng Qiang Liang got free with Francisco Nesor in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Martín Palermo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcial Estavan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cornelio Inge got free with Francisco Nesor in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cornelio Inge in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Nesor saved Metal Juniors from getting behind. In the 16th match minute, INDEPENDIENTE F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uriel Sasoin to maneuver through the defense. Marco Ireno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Marcial Estavan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcial Estavan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Reinaldo Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute Leopoldo Itzaina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Estavan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcial Estavan came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Metal Juniors's Leopoldo Itzaina. But to his dismay, Leopoldo Itzaina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 42nd minute, Martín Palermo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Metal Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After a rather tough play, INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s Milton Ramos got a free kick in the 46th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Ireno in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcial Estavan saved INDEPENDIENTE F.C. from getting behind. After the first half Metal Juniors were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martín Palermo was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s zone, Marco Ireno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcial Estavan came out of the goal and Marco Ireno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Nesor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cornelio Inge's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martín Palermo in the 64th minute of play forced INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcial Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Metal Juniors's Martín Palermo in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. The Metal Juniors fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when Metal Juniors's Marco Ireno looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Metal Juniors made a substitution. Sergio Dennis replaced Martín Palermo. 78 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Cornelio Inge came free, but Francisco Nesor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Herminio Iratze notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Metal Juniors's Francisco Nesor. Francisco Nesor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Sergio Dennis took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Marcial Estavan to make any attempt to save it. 91 minutes into the game, Metal Juniors's Sergio Dennis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcial Estavan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. In the 97th minute, Sergio Dennis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcial Estavan. The goal made the score 1-7. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Metal Juniors had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
