Metal Juniors's Francisco Nesor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Demario in the 19th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Esquipula Bouzon came free, but Francisco Nesor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francisco Nesor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esquipula Bouzon, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's goalkeeper Francisco Nesor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gregorio Urbes. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martín Palermo to make the kick off. Martín Palermo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Anastasio Eguerdi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martín Palermo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anastasio Eguerdi having to interfere. DeportivoIndependienteMDP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Metal Juniors's Sergio Dennis was substituted for Martín Palermo. The crowd rose to their feet as Sergio Dennis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Anastasio Eguerdi. That made the score 1-1 in the 73 minute of play. Salvador Perfecto hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The supporters of DeportivoIndependienteMDP booed when Metal Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaspar Gerazan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Esquipula Bouzon came free, but Francisco Nesor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Melker Flink's late challenge caught a DeportivoIndependienteMDP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melker Flink helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th minute, Melker Flink hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the match, Gregorio Urbes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisco Nesor. Metal Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gregorio Urbes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Francisco Nesor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Demario, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergio Dennis in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anastasio Eguerdi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Metal Juniors fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Metal Juniors's Sergio Dennis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
