An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilo Gutierrez-Pacheco in the 16th minute of play forced INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcial Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kuzey Sebat was slow to take the kick. During this time DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Berker Sani managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berker Sani in the 18th minute of play forced INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcial Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aguirre Verde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Orlan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcial Estavan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofilo Gutierrez-Pacheco in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute Berker Sani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Estavan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25thth minute of the game Teofilo Gutierrez-Pacheco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s Marcial Estavan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcial Estavan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teofilo Gutierrez-Pacheco's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. With a left leg Marcial Estavan saved INDEPENDIENTE F.C. from getting behind. 41 minutes into the match, DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's goalkeeper Aguirre Verde had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dagoberto Neila.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teofilo Gutierrez-Pacheco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Marcial Estavan managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Teofilo Gutierrez-Pacheco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aguirre Verde prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aguirre Verde came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s Herminio Iratze. But to his dismay, Herminio Iratze quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s zone, Berker Sani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcial Estavan came out of the goal and Berker Sani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute, Yngve Möller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. INDEPENDIENTE F.C. had played much better football throughout.
