Victoriano Bernaldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Rubio in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aurelio Rubio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gösta Harman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicasio Benino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darryl Buckner in the 76th minute of the match. In the 80thth minute of the game Aurelio Rubio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leopoldo Rosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Nicasio Benino made a huge save. If Amado Chumo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Santo Libertad dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. The Dep Colonia Avellaneda supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Dep Colonia Avellaneda would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
