If Ermegildo Joey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 21st minute, Ermegildo Joey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jose Ferrel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. When Humberto Lonzo fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Islas FC's protests and gave Humberto Lonzo a yellow card for diving instead. After 24 played minutes Islas FC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Lonzo. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Niguel Castillo during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Islas FC's Sergio Fernendo was substituted for Mariano Oriche. A collision led to Snorlax FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Niguel Castillo hit a great ball. Jose Ferrel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Casomiro's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. The supporters of Islas FC booed when Snorlax FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nereo Ibarguen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After taking down the ball on Islas FC's corner Ermegildo Joey fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jose Ferrel quite easily take care of the ball. In the 48th minute Ermegildo Joey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Ferrel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edelmiro Villar to make the kick off. Edelmiro Villar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jose Ferrel made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Sergio Fernendo sent off a good shot on target. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by Snorlax FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ermegildo Joey was slow to take the kick. During this time Islas FC's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ermegildo Joey got free with Jose Ferrel in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Snorlax FC's Jose Ferrel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Snorlax FC from getting a goal against them. Severino Casomiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jose Ferrel firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ermegildo Joey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Ferrel having to interfere. After 91 played minutes Islas FC got a freekick which was hit by Ermegildo Joey. Severino Casomiro kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After 94 played minutes Snorlax FC got a freekick which was hit by Francisco José Maeztu.
