Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maurício Bomba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teobaldo Belmiro in the 14th minute. Peep Pronk blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Geronimo Ongile having to make a save. Geronimo Ongile took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peep Pronk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Maurício Bomba successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of AC LeX Luthor booed when Gastres FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathieu Koning didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gastres FC's zone, Peep Pronk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geronimo Ongile came out of the goal and Peep Pronk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Gastres FC's Clemente Elodio got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teobaldo Belmiro to make the kick off. AC LeX Luthor's Maurício Bomba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Neto in the 54th minute of play. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gastres FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Karl-Axel Kielstedt was slow to take the kick. During this time AC LeX Luthor's players had a chance to rest. Otto Tenno made a great header on AC LeX Luthor's corner, it was just that Gastres FC's Geronimo Ongile managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 90th minute, Teobaldo Belmiro made a precise shot to the right of Maurício Bomba. AC LeX Luthor's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1.
