The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vlad Voican showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Åke Fors, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute, Åke Fors got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 27 minutes into the match, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's goal looked a bit too open when Åke Fors came free, but Vlad Voican reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tuncay Cansever might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vlad Voican. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tuncay Cansever ran back to his position shaking his head. Håkan Söderberg made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Dan Stelaru sent off a good shot on target. Degerfors IF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
