After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Michel Sergipano got a free kick in the 5th minute. Talenti Roma Calcio's Achille Fiordelisi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Carlos Simões in the 8th minute of play. Achille Fiordelisi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeo Tuste, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute, José Carlos Simões made a precise shot to the right of Achille Fiordelisi. Talenti Roma Calcio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The referee felt a red card was in order, 34 minutes into the game, when Benê Sabóia put in a rough tackle. After 35 played minutes Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Benê Sabóia. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Carlos Augusto Recife successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 38 minutes Palmeiras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Frank Anastasi who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Talenti Roma Calcio's Frank Anastasi to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlos Augusto Recife despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Ermanno Marcolongo came free, but Carlos Augusto Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Talenti Roma Calcio's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Bastos came free, but Achille Fiordelisi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Edgard Bastos fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmeiras's protests and gave Edgard Bastos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Edgard Bastos hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The wind increased when Amadeo Tuste made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberigo Gregori during the 50th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when Talenti Roma Calcio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberigo Gregori didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 54 minutes, Felice Barbato managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Talenti Roma Calcio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felice Barbato was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amadeo Tuste fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achille Fiordelisi having to interfere. In the 57th minute of the match, Amadeo Tuste tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Achille Fiordelisi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 71st minute of the match, Edgard Bastos got a very nice opportunity to score, but Achille Fiordelisi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Carlos Augusto Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermanno Marcolongo in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Amadeo Tuste left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palmeiras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Edgard Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmeiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgard Bastos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Achille Fiordelisi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81stth minute of the game Ermanno Marcolongo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palmeiras's Carlos Augusto Recife was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Talenti Roma Calcio getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Ermanno Marcolongo hit a great ball. Talenti Roma Calcio's Achille Fiordelisi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Talenti Roma Calcio from getting a goal against them. Ermanno Marcolongo took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Augusto Recife. Carlos Augusto Recife dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Carlos Augusto Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermanno Marcolongo in the 94th minute of play. The Talenti Roma Calcio fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Palmeiras were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
