Cristian Mello made in the 10th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by José Carlos Simões. 14 minutes into the game, Benê Sabóia threw the ball into play from the sideline. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Manuel Cozorici managed to get in a good position for a shot. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Cozorici was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Augusto Recife breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dan Stelaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Mello made in the 40th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Benê Sabóia. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manuel Cozorici to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's Elano Soares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vlad Voican narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 58 minutes into the game, Benê Sabóia threw the ball into play from the sideline. Dan Stelaru received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carlos Augusto Recife came out and tried to block the shot, but Dan Stelaru slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 86th minute. José Carlos Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vlad Voican having to interfere. Carlos Augusto Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Stelaru in the 95th minute of the match. Benê Sabóia hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
