Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Åke Fors started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Degerfors IF's goal looked a bit too open when Cornel Ulici came free, but Håkan Söderberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 5 minutes, Selman Durkaya mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Degerfors IF and the SK Mons players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 5 played minutes Degerfors IF got a freekick which was hit by Selman Durkaya. SK Mons's Peng Xu couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 6th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Degerfors IF. In the 16th minute Cornel Ulici shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Håkan Söderberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Åke Fors in the 18th minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Alex Pihl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Pihl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Åke Fors's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Håkan Söderberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Ulici in the 20th minute of the match. Peng Xu hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Åke Fors in the 25th minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Alex Pihl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Åke Fors might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alex Pihl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Åke Fors ran back to his position shaking his head. Degerfors IF's Håkan Söderberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Degerfors IF from getting a goal against them. Fredrik Isak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Alex Pihl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alex Pihl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Isak in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute Degerfors IF were awarded a corner. Christian Håkansson went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Christian Håkansson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SK Mons's Alex Pihl did a great save. Alex Pihl came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Degerfors IF's Åke Fors. But to his dismay, Åke Fors quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The wind increased when Cornel Ulici made the kick off in the second half. Zé Simões charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Simões the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Degerfors IF getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Zé Simões hit a great ball. Degerfors IF's Håkan Söderberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steven Puttemans in the 52nd minute of play. Håkan Söderberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nick Daniels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Åke Fors managed to get in a good position for a shot. Degerfors IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Åke Fors was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex Pihl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of SK Mons's goalie and right to Mattias Västlund. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. SK Mons's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. SK Mons made a substitution. Yanniek Verhaert replaced Sammy Van Houdtvin. If Steven Puttemans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Åke Fors's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Pihl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Sergio Deman kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, SK Mons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Britto to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the game, Diamantino Britto threw the ball into play from the sideline. Degerfors IF's Philip Kihlman quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Alex Pihl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Åke Fors in the 88th minute. If Åke Fors had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Degerfors IF were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
