Cosmin Mușetescu charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cosmin Mușetescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Cosmin Mușetescu got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 12th match minute, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florin Darabonț to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornel Ulici in the 14th minute of play forced MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's goalkeeper Vlad Voican to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, SK Mons's Vlad Voican threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cornel Ulici, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Vlad Voican made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Ruben Smidts sent off a good shot on target. Alex Pihl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Cozorici in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 26th match minute, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavel Iacob to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's goalkeeper Vlad Voican had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leif Olofsson. Ruben Smidts came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vlad Voican could save by the left post. If Gelu Amânaloae had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vlad Voican showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Ulici in the 40th minute of the match. Vlad Voican took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornel Ulici, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cosmin Mușetescu got his second yellow card in the match during the 43rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 44th match minute, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cosmin Mușetescu to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 45 minutes, Peng Xu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Mons's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peng Xu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 46 minutes into the game, Nick Daniels recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vlad Voican. Nick Daniels showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Cozorici to make the kick off. In the 62nd minute, Florin Darabonț hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd match minute, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florin Darabonț to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute, Cornel Ulici left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SK Mons fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Vlad Voican played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Olofsson in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Cozorici in the 74th minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Alex Pihl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 75 played minutes SK Mons got a freekick which was hit by Nick Daniels. Cornel Ulici hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Eric Hulubei got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 87th minute Leif Olofsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlad Voican saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Cozorici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Pihl having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SK Mons.
