Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Ladislao Mazurkiewicz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 16 minutes into the match, Winthont FC's goalkeeper Dennis Beerthuis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Peyo Contera. 18 minutes into the game, Kai Havertz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Winthont FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Kai Havertz got a free kick in the 18th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Winthont FC's Hermengildo Nesor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Marc van Nistelrooij took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ladislao Mazurkiewicz. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermengildo Nesor in the 27th minute of play forced Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goalkeeper Ladislao Mazurkiewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's zone, Hermengildo Nesor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz came out of the goal and Hermengildo Nesor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute Hermengildo Nesor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ladislao Mazurkiewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goal looked a bit too open when Hermengildo Nesor came free, but Ladislao Mazurkiewicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermengildo Nesor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hermengildo Nesor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Ladislao Mazurkiewicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermengildo Nesor in the 44th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peyo Contera to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Kai Havertz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, Winthont FC's Sixto Gorbea ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ladislao Mazurkiewicz. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sixto Gorbea got free with Ladislao Mazurkiewicz in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sixto Gorbea in the 69th minute. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sixto Gorbea went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Marc van Nistelrooij scored 0-7 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ladislao Mazurkiewicz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 83rd minute, which inside left pole to 0-8. Sixto Gorbea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ladislao Mazurkiewicz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play.
