Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Victoriano Horado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of play. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Victor Harri was slow to take the kick. During this time Devoto club social's players had a chance to rest. Devoto club social's Victor Harri was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 12th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victoriano Horado was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Venancio Brion made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 20thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Julio Vera would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victoriano Horado having to interfere. Victoriano Horado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Devoto club social's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Victoriano Horado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Victoriano Horado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victoriano Horado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Victoriano Horado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute of play. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victoriano Horado. Victoriano Horado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Daniel Zorita scored 0-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Victoriano Horado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Venancio Brion was the one to do the kick off. Marcial Valerio kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. When Marcial Valerio fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Devoto club social's protests and gave Marcial Valerio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th minute, Marcial Valerio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victoriano Horado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the game, Epifanio Ferdinand was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Devoto club social's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute of the match, Luis Andino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Victoriano Horado saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Victoriano Horado made a huge save. Victoriano Horado was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. The supporters of Devoto club social booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Devoto club social made a substitution. Tiburcio Mero replaced Victor Harri. In the 84th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Victoriano Horado. Devoto club social's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. The crowd rose to their feet as Agustín Saelices kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Victoriano Horado. That made the score 0-6 in the 89 minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Victoriano Horado. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7.
