Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Axel Tasis made the kick off which started today's match. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 8 minutes into the game, Newell´s's Sidónio Candeias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With an all-out effort, Newell´s's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gaspar Pelayo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 18 minutes into the match, Sidónio Candeias notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Orain in the 23rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute Lautaro Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Gitano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaspar Pelayo struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newell´s. 29 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Larralde came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sidónio Candeias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Rafael Orain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Rafael Orain sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. Sidónio Candeias in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sidónio Candeiass short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Benito Sanz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 39th play minutes Sidónio Candeias shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Newell´s booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Tasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Newell´s's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gaspar Pelayo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 46 minutes into the game, Sidónio Candeias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

54 minutes into the match, Rogelio Larralde had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rogelio Larralde was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. 58 minutes into the game, Gaspar Pelayo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Newell´s's Pepito Tarnovskiy was substituted for Rogelio Larralde. Newell´s's Duro Pene was substituted for Andres Chorache. 69 minutes into the match, Tzvetomir Gruykin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tzvetomir Gruykin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. When Newell´s's Tzvetomir Gruykin in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Tzvetomir Gruykin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Newell´s's Thor Rosin. But to his dismay, Thor Rosin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 10-0. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tzvetomir Gruykin in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Pepito Tarnovskiy made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 11-0. A collision led to Newell´s getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Sidónio Candeias hit a great ball. Newell´s's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
