Borys Gruchacz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maicon Abreu in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Mané Lara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Adilson de Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Maicon Abreu got in the 23rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Borys Gruchacz handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
