In the 17th minute of the match Joel Gaona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joel Vallengren skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Timmy Vestberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joel Vallengren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 26th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Vallengren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joel Vallengren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 34th minute of play. After having played for 42 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Charlie Bjurström to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joel Gaona during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Luque to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kennet Martinsson in the 65th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefano Lilipaly in the 69th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charlie Bjurström in the 81st minute of the match. Joel Gaona hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute of the match Kennet Martinsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The DFP supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mexico's performance. The match ended with a win for Mexico.
