Joel Vallengren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Charlie Bjurström might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Charlie Bjurström ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charlie Bjurström in the 42nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Joel Vallengren however easily saved by the left post. After 71 minutes of play, DFP's Charlie Bjurström made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joel Vallengren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charlie Bjurström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, DFP's Charlie Bjurström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Kennet Martinsson hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charlie Bjurström in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Charlie Bjurström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thor Hasselqvist was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 92 minutes into the match. In the 92nd match minute, DFP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thor Hasselqvist to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Iustinian Ipătescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Iustinian Ipătescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, DFP could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
