In the 19th minute, Tibalt Tanasio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sandalio Domingo. ꜱᴀᴊʀᴀꜱ ꜰᴄ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Sandalio Domingo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 30th minute Tibalt Tanasio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandalio Domingo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 0-8 when Daniel Zorita sped through ꜱᴀᴊʀᴀꜱ ꜰᴄ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sandalio Domingo. 91 minutes into the game, Luis Andino lined in a short shot 0-9 behind a frustrated Sandalio Domingo. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
