In the 5th match minute, Punk Fiction was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edelmiro Olivar to maneuver through the defense. Gilberto Nayely blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. 10 minutes into the match, Punk Fiction's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Amado Jordão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 14 minutes, Gilberto Nayely managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Punk Fiction's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Nayely was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24thth minute of the game Gilberto Nayely who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Punk Fiction's Amado Jordão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 29th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Jordão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Punk Fiction booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilberto Nayelys short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 40th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. Gilberto Nayely received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Gilberto Nayely slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 46th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. If Gilberto Nayely had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 65 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Amado Jordão, 4-1. Agustín Saelices in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amado Jordão, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Punk Fiction was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Tancredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 5-3 without a chance for Amado Jordão to make any attempt to save it. In the 96th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Jordão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Punk Fiction were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
