Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kang Fan Xiang in the 28th minute. Vila Zumbi's Carlos Fernando Schmidt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the Vila Zumbi defense, Felix Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antoni Beninda. The Vila Zumbi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antoni Beninda should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute, Sergio Bertin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the match, Maciej Marchlewicz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 1-2. Primitivo Andino charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Primitivo Andino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maciej Marchlewicz in the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Antoni Beninda was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Maciej Marchlewicz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maciej Marchlewicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Kang Fan Xiang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vila Zumbi's Antoni Beninda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Vila Zumbi from getting a goal against them. With his leg Antoni Beninda managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maciej Marchlewicz in the 82nd minute of play. After having played for 85 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Vila Zumbi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gildo Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Antoni Beninda made a huge save. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Vila Zumbi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdi Kadıoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
