Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Frederico Vilalobos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. The long shot by Bento Madeira in the 26th minute really tested Julio Vera's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The Nascente do Leça fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frederico Vilalobos should have stopped the shot. Severiano Campelos short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nascente do Leça's Severiano Campelo got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frederico Vilalobos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severiano Campelo in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severiano Campelo in the 55th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severiano Campelo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Nascente do Leça's Frederico Vilalobos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Nascente do Leça from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severiano Campelo in the 62nd minute of play. Frederico Vilalobos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. After 65 minutes Nascente do Leça's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. 68 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Severiano Campelo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Nascente do Leça's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederico Vilalobos came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Frederico Vilalobos however easily saved by the left post. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frederico Vilalobos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. With a little luck, Nascente do Leça's Frederico Vilalobos got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Nascente do Leça getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Bengt Molander hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Frederico Vilalobos came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 84th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mircea Gorunescu in the 88th minute of play. In the 91stth minute of the game Severiano Campelo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bogdan Gierasik hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita shot from long distance in the 93rd minute, but Frederico Vilalobos was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. After 95 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Nuno Bomba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Nascente do Leça fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
