The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan Carlos Almada got free with Rolando Noboa in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 11 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samet Özsahin. In the 22nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignacio Vidanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Samet Özsahin tried to sneak it across the goal line.
