Sagene IF's Glyn Wedlock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of play. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Sagene IF's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glyn Wedlock came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hans-Kristian Aanes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Hans-Kristian Aanes came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Sagene IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hans-Kristian Aanes couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the match, Sagene IF's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Glyn Wedlock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Sagene IF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute of play forced Sagene IF's goalkeeper Glyn Wedlock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glyn Wedlock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Sagene IF's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Glyn Wedlock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hans-Kristian Aanes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Hans-Kristian Aanes made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans-Kristian Aanes, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Glyn Wedlock made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans-Kristian Aanes in the 64th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glyn Wedlock having to interfere. The goalkeeper, Glyn Wedlock, was totally fooled by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita, who 93 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The Sagene IF supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ecuador's performance. The match ended with a win for Ecuador.
